Since the 2009 IndyCar Season ended last year, I haven’t been dishing out the same amount of news as I used to. My bad, guys. Well, to make it up to you IndyCar fans, here’s a fast recap of what we’ve missed from your favorite American motorsport.
First up, we have news about Conquest Racing, and the team’s improvements for this coming season. To prepare for the 2010 IndyCar Series Season, the team has appointed a couple of new firms to handle its sponsorship and strategic marketing. Conquest Racing will be working with Dojupa and IBP.
The team is also set to have a single car racing throughout the 2010 schedule.

Danica Patrick also remains under the spotlight, after it has been announced in IndyCar.com, that the female driver will have her name affixed to a shelter.
At the holiday party of the Go Daddy Group Inc., the company’s CEO, Bob Parsons announced that they will be donating a whopping $500,000 to the UMOM New Day Center’s capital campaign. That money will be used to build a wing at the current downtown Phoenix facility. The wing will be named the Danica Patrick GoDaddy.com Domestic Violence Center.
Since 1964, UMOM New Day Centers have been providing a variety of programs for at-risk and homeless families. The group has also provided counseling, shelter, and other resources to domestic violence victims. Now, that’s what I call putting your money to good use.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Bryan Herta Autosport will be transferring its Firestone Indy Lights program to a new location come 2010. BHA, which is the tenant and technical partner of Vision Racing, is set to occupy a race shop that formerly housed Fernandez Racing. The said race shop is located at the northwest area of Indianapolis.

Ryan Briscoe is also reported to have said his “I Do’s” with ESPN anchor Nicole Manske. The couple was wed in Maui, Hawaii last December 19. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Briscoe! J

Hunter-Reay’s complete schedule is still in the works, but we hear that his races will include the Indianapolis 500 and other races before and after the May 30 event.

Also making the news is the reunion between Vitor Meira and Jeff Britton. Britton recently joined A.J. Foyt Racing as the team’s new chief engineer for the No. 14 ABC Supply Co. entry. Meira and Britton worked together when Meira claimed his first second-place finish back in ’05 at the Indianapolis 500.
